about those who have gone عن أولئك الذين رحلوا

Synopsis:

Place, time, coincidence, destiny, young, beautiful, enthusiastic, good day and then the blast...

This is a revisit to places through voices that trail the last moments in the lives of bystanders who have gone in the series of bombings following the assassination of ex-prime minister Rafic Hariri. The victim's loved ones, gracefully, narrate their dreams and destiny, their cheerful moments and sad ones. Above all, they hold them dear in their memories.

Director's Statement:

The film was shot between 2007 and 2008. The conceptional idea was to shoot the places in their current state and inject voice-overs to reveal the deeper sense of time and place. Most interviewee's wishes were not in favor of appearing on camera, and their wishes were met. In addition, many more people were contacted for interviews, but some declined instantly while others had reasons.

Thus far, the film had to reach a certain point to which it called for post-production and later screen release. Further interviews and more shooting would have revealed more stories, but the capacity of work and time pressed me to bring the work to its final round.
